Goose Feather Garland and Goose Feather Bauble

This whole feathery home decor craze really seems to have taken off  this year and the list of feathery items is getting longer.  When I say list I mean the peacock feather wreath and the guinea feather placemats.  Okay there's only actually two feathery items on "The List" but "The List" is about to grow!  Have a look here at the feathery Christmas items I found in Habitat.  First up is the Goose feather garland which is called Marabou and is available in either white or plum.  Also available in the same colours are these goose feather baubles which have the less exotic name of, eh, Goose.  If you find any other feathery Christmas decorations let me know and I'll add them to "The List".

Also if you see any partly bald slightly receding geese on your travels then you might want to show them a little love because this aint a good time of year to be a bird!   

Coloured Stemware from Nachtmann Nierstein

I know that there's a credit crunch at the moment, you'd need to be on the moon to have avoided that piece of bad news, but you have just got to have a look at this magnificent coloured stemware range from Nachtmann Nierstein. 

Isn't it gorgeous?  This fabulous stemware comes in a range of six classy colours.  If I had to pick just one colour I think I'd pick the amber but I'm sure there's something there for every taste.  Or, you could mix and match for a more eclectic table. 

This gorgeous stemware won't go out of fashion so you could buy a couple of glasses now and then and build up your own collection.  Fabulous for that special dinner.

Guinea Feather Placemats - Traditional or Cool, you decide.

Now I don't know if we've stumbled upon a trend, started a trend or if this is just a fowl (tehehee) coincidence but we have more feathery home decor for you. 

Have a look at this set of six round guinea feather placemats.

In tones of brown, grey and back (obviously) these 17" placemats would fit in beautifully with a more traditional table setting and would enhance any fine bone china and crystal  giving that gracious olde worlde charm.

They'd also look very cool with a more contemporary table setting of glass and stainless steel making the placemats themselves the centre of attention. They're really quite stunning don't you think? 

Hopefully there were no birds injured in the making of these here  placemats or the peacock feather wreath!  The mind boggles at the thought of a flock of half naked birds running around!

Brown Christmas Tree

We've had the Charlie Brown Christmas tree now we have the slimline chocolate brown christmas tree.  Luscious..... This fab tree looks good enough to eat.  Don't though, that would be really silly because it's not really chocolate! 

This  lovely tree comes in two sizes and as it's narrow in shape it should fit in most places.  The shiny chocolate brown branches would look good dressed with gold baubles or if you fancy something a little bit more contemporary how about covering it in lime green or turquoise baubles. 

I've also got a picture in my mind of this fabulous brown christmas tree covered in burnished copper decorations.  Very classy don't you think?

I'm now going to show you a picture of a chocolate christmas tree just to make certain that you know which tree is edible and which isn't!

Got it?  Good.

Peacock Feather Christmas Wreath and a question!

This unusual peacock feather Christmas wreath is decorated with faux jewels and sequins and just like the popular Juju hats  would make a bold statement displayed on a plain wall. 

The gorgeous irridescent blue and green jewel like colours of the peacock feathers coupled with the sequins certainly give this Christmas wreath depth and sparkle and set if apart from the more traditional Christmas wreath.  It also comes with a blue hanging ribbon to complete the festive look.

I'm aware though that this may not be to every taste so what do you think, is it yea or nay to this stylish peacock feather wreath? 

Bottle Brush Tree by Kuno Prey

Back by popular demand and in extremely limited supply is this iconic bottle brush tree by Kuno Prey.   

Designer Kuno Prey was a professor at the Bauhaus Design school in Germany  and has designed for Alessi and Danese so this bushy green tree comes from good stock!  Good design costs though, so be prepared.

With its bottle brush branches and red base and trunk this festive 58" tree won't suit everybody but it has that kitsch look that you've just gotta love.

The more you look at it the more you'll love it, but don't look too long, remember it's in limited supply! 

 

Metal Tea Light Tree

Object of desire alert!  Out of all the tea light trees  that are around this year I think that  this one takes first prize.

This fabulous beaded metal tea light tree would look great as a Christmas decoration with a little circle of holly and berries round its base.   It's such a beautiful sculptural piece with its staggered tea light holders that I'd definitely keep it on show all year.

Unfortunately it isn't available for delivery until the first week in December so make a note because I'm pretty sure it'll be a best seller! 

I'm lovin' it.    Also, lovin' the antique brass finish tea light holder pictured with it too!  Adorable. 

Vote for Me Tree

Let me ask you this question, how many times have you had the chance to vote lately?  If you're Mickey Mouse from Florida that doesn't count, okay!  I'm willing to bet that it's only been once whether it was in the American Presidential election or the recent Glenrothes by-election. 

Although we only get one chance to vote the campaigning can take for ever and most people enjoy the arguments debates that surround the whole process. Some people though just never get over the fact that their chosen candidate didn't quite make it and they can be really quite peevish about it.  With that in mind I think some cheering up is in order so have a look at this patriotic "Vote for Me" Christmas tree. The good people over at Treetopia anticipating the withdrawal from voting blues are letting us vote to choose a name for this patriotic Christmas tree. This fabulous red, white and blue tree has white star lights and and a rotating stand. Fabulous!  I also think Treetopia are giving us a big hint when they say they "need a name for her"!  Yea let's go! Let me at those voting buttons.  Where's the one for Hillary, where IS it, where is.....Oh for the love o' God,  NOT AGAIN!

Rosenthal Studio Line A La Carte - white porcelain

I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, I love white porcelain.  I know you all know about this paticular passion of mine so it shouldn't be a surprise when I tell you I'm lovin' all the pieces in the Rosenthal Studio Line A la Carte selection of tableware.

Crocheted Christmas Decorations

I don't know why crocheted christmas decorations didn't figure on my radar.  After all I've been the one raving about crocheted lampshades and all things lace whether it's plates or cups.   The radar's up now though and I think you'll agree these crocheted hanging decorations are really quite beautiful.

Given that the monochrome look is big at the moment don't you think these fabulous decorations would look stunning on a black Christmas tree?
