Shoes to sit on and to wear.

I've never met a woman who doesn't like shoes, especially high heels.  Actually I have met a woman who doesn't bother that much about shoes, and to be honest, I've never understood that.  Anyway, if you don't want to wear high heels (as if) would you like to sit on one?   Of course you would!   Have a look at this great velvet leopard look shoe chair. You want to sit on it now don't you?  Now it does say on the blurb that it "fits into any decor".  Well, I'm not too sure about that, but hey, it's  shoes, who can't find a place for new shoes?

Funky salt and pepper pots.

There are lots and lots of salt and pepper pot sets to choose from these days.  You can take your pick from cheap and cheerful or you could opt for the more expensive designer sets.  Here's my pick of some of the new contemporary salt and pepper pot sets on the market.  Any one of these sets would make a fun hostess gift or a really cool engagement gift. 

 

These Samba salt and pepper shakers are inspired by the maraca.  They're made of white porcelain and come with a set of red and black rubber caps. 

I love the curvy shape of this set.  Makes you want to pick them up and well.... shake them. 

 

 

 

Next up is the Cue n' 8 salt and pepper pots.  They're made from used n' abused pool balls by designer Alex Turner. 

Did I just hear a sigh of sympathy for these little guys?  Buy them then!  They're as cute as can be and clearly are looking for a new table to call home. 

 

 

Last but not least, and definitely my favourite,  the Koziol Devil and Angel salt and pepper pots.  Interchangable (you choose) and available in black and white or red and white these high quality high gloss plastic salt and pepper pots certainly float my boat. 

Fiona Chenille Pouffe

It's called Fiona and to me it looks like a bit of an animal.

 I'm talking about this here chenille pouffe.  It reminds me of a hedgehog only it's bigger, creamy in colour and soft in texture.  Okay, so it's nothing like a real  hedgehog!  I'm sure the kids would love to have this in their bedroom or the family room to use as spare seating tho'.  

Go on admit it, you're dying to sit on a Fiona chenille pouffe yourself.

Yay or Nay to this suspension lamp?

When I first saw  this suspension lamp I thought it was ceramic  and had been made to look like it had just exploded and fragments were hanging in the air just like you'd paused a video tape.  I kinda liked that idea. 

Then on closer inspection I found out that this fab Ingo Maurer suspension lamp is made from stainless steel, heat resistant glass and 40 pinted and 40 blank sheets of A6 Japanese paper!  Wow, I exclaimed.    I then  thought "Ahmm, this could be like one of those books that get passed around at weddings where you're supposed to write some witty, off the cuff comment about the newlyweds".  If that's the case I'm rubbish at that.   Then  I thought I could ask guests to write witty, off the cuff comments on the blank A6 Japanese paper, it could be like my own little installation. And, lets be truthful, if I suffer you all suffer!  Then I saw the price, £640,  so I thought I'd ask you.  

Yay or Nay to this suspension lamp? 

Beware of the................. It's a sign.

At the moment I'm reading "Marley & Me" by John Grogan and I'm lovin' it.  Marley is such a sweetheart that you just want one.  Now before you rush out and buy a Marley for yourself you might just want to consider all the things he may want to chew or even eat whole.  A Marley can eat a lot of really nice stuff whole so you may want to get one of those "Beware of the Dog" signs.  Aw, that sounds a bit harsh for a Marley,  so maybe you'd like to get a sign made that just said "Beware of Marley's Slobber" or something like

that.  Come to think of it if you don't have a Marley you could still have a sign because I'm sure there's something to "Beware of " in every home.  Have a look at these fab signs that I've found on ebay.  There's bound to be something for you.

Wellie Holder not Noddy Holder

Get ready for the great British summer. 

I'm not kidding.  Trust me you'll need  this great  Wellie Holder  (not to be confused with Noddy Holder) at some point.

Good Day, Earth Day. It's time for a Sun Tube.

Today April 22^nd is Earth Day. 

I know because Google’s got a whole little scene going on telling us it’s Earth Day. 

I was going onto the internet to try and find some nice lights for my hallway  when the little Google scene caught my eye  The thing is I live in a bungalow and the inner hallway always seems a bit dark unless all the doors are left open and the light from the other rooms are allowed to shine through. 

Also like many other people  I've got a bathroom in the middle of the house with no windows, so it doesn't matter if there's bright sunshine all the live long day I've still got to put the light on.  

I started to feel a bit uneasy about those new lights wasting electricity (and money)  when Google had gone to all that trouble to remind us about Earth Day and our environmental responsibilities. 

 That’s when I found this fabulous gadget.

Free light.  This great Solatube sounds like a good idea and if it does what it says on the tin then this is the very thing I’ve been looking for.  

(If anybody's got one of these sun tubes  then I'd be happy to hear if they really work.  I saw them once on television in a house that was built underground and I've fancied getting one since then).

Anyways......

Happy Earth Day or whatever's  the  appropriate greeting on this fine day.

To shop or not to shop - what a very silly question. 

My sentiments entirely. 

These wonderful handpainted signs by Abigail Bryans would make a great gift or a fun accessory in the home. 

These signs are hand-painted in a vintage cream with distressed finish and you can  choose from a collection of themed sayings or you can personalise them .

 What a great idea,  Let your imagination flow and create a humourous or affectionate saying of your own making.

Newsprint french fries cup and sauce dish by Maxwell & Williams.

Here's hoping we're going to get a warm, dry summer this year.  If we do then it'll mean some outdoor family meals and I really enjoy the relaxed  ambience that eating outside can create.  Or, maybe that's the wine, who knows!  

Anyways,  I think this newsprint french fries cup and sauce dish would set off that outdoor table to perfection and at the same time help  create that relaxed ambience. (I'd still have the wine tho').

Union Jack Tapestry. Use it as a bedspread or throw.
