Seems like there's been a bit of an outbreak of stools with appendages.
First we had the stool with the lamp and now I present to you the stool with the coat stand. It's called a Peg Chair Stand and it's by Alex Hellum. They tell me it was inspired by the ritual of hanging up your coat and tying your shoes laces.
Hmm, you've got to ask youself if that partiicular ritual really needed a special piece of furniture.
Anyway just like the stool with the lamp I think I'll pass on the Peg Chair Stand.
However if you're caught up in that whole coat and shoe lace ritual then maybe this is for you.
It's made by Ercol and you can buy it at Heals.

This really cool looking vase reminds me of the 70's. It's got a real 70's vibe to it.
It also reminds me of sunshine, which makes sense because the 70's was probably the last time I saw sunshine! Here in Scotland we're still nostalgic about the great summer we had in 1976!
Hand finished and hand painted with non toxic paint this stoneware vase makes me smile.
It's called Karma.
Nice name, nice vase.

If you're looking for a contemporary vase for a wedding table or if you're looking for a wedding gift then this fabulous loop vase by Black and Blum could be a contender.
This stylish steel vase has a special insert for ease of filling and cleaning and would look very classy wherever you decide to site it.
As a mate to the loop candelabra and loop bowl Black and Blum have certainly come up with a contemporary vase with a twist.
I'm lovin' it.

This funky tall vase in metalic is a little bit different.and I love the fact that you're not at all sure if it's a vase or a piece of sculpture.
The vase looks stunning on its own but there's also a medium size vase which when placed together just adds to the whole sculptural effect. It's all down to the way the light falls on the lines of the vase. Interesting!
Is it a little bit Picasso or a little bit Dali? Let me know.

Catching some rays in the form of sunshine has been a pretty hard thing to do this year. However here's a way to have some rays and enjoy a design classic . The Pistillo lamp is so versatile it can be used as a wall light, table lamp or pendant.
The Pistillo lamp by Studio Tetrarch was first shown in 1969 and when it's unlit it looks like a cool ornament but it really comes into its own when lit. This iconic lamp is available at Habitat and if you think it's a bit expensive well maybe the smaller Pistillino lamp would be a better choice.
These lights are so pretty with the mirror topped chrome lightbulb and chrome petals casting rays all over the room they'll remind you of rays of sunshine which unfortunately has been sadly lacking this year.

I've no reason to doubt that this three-legged stool lamp was inspired by an antique and I'm sure it's functional but do you know what it reminds me of? You know the kind of clothes that are all sewn together to make a complete outfit. The kind of clothes that need no thought from yourself. You just wake up, zip yourself into an entire outfit and you're sorted. Well that's what this three-legged stool lamp reminds me of. It's kinda cute but it's not for me. What do you think?

Well I may not have a secret garden but I do have a tree. I have a tree! Around this tree I could have this fabulous antique French style 2 seater curved bench tree seat.
I'm so lucky to have a tree!
All I need to do is clear out the overgrown piece of garden beneath the tree, chop off those really low tree branches and then position this lovely French style tree seat. First of all I'll need to speak to the husband because he doesn't even know that he wants a tree seat yet!

French shabby chic is still very much on trend at the moment and I must admit I normally would choose a more modern, contemporary style but this French furniture craze has made me have a really good look at all this particular trend has to offer. I must admit I have been pleasantly surprised to find that it's not just the odd nick nack that I like. I also like some of the larger pieces of furniture, mirrors, lamps, curtain material and rugs. You name it and I could find a place for French shabby chic in any room in my house. I'm not stopping at the interior either I love the French style patio sets. They really are delightful. I wish I had a part of the garden that was a wee bit secret because I'd love to walk a pathway and stumble across something like this fabulous set. Adorable!

Those ancestors of mine would never understand that milk jugs could be such fun.
This hand crafted double walled glass milk jug is really obvious and it's fun but I don't think it's for me.
It's one of those kitchen accessories that I'd admire if one of my friends had it but I wouldn't rush out and buy it for myself.
What do you think, udderly hilarious or udderly hideous?
